David Kemper is a dynamic and entrepreneurial business growth leader with a track record of success. He has proven effectiveness aligning, motivating and leading teams of professionals to achieve organizational growth, increased sustainability and stronger market presence. David also has a unique ability to apply his experience and skill across multiple companies and multiple cultures for them to achieve success in collaborative ventures, or heterarchies. He has strong, technical and hands-on business experience creating compelling future visions for organizations and collaboratives, identifying new market opportunities, and developing the strategic and tactical plans to achieve substantial and sustainable revenue growth and increased profitability. David possesses a wide range of success across multiple industries, with more extensive experience in healthcare and medical products and services, technical textiles, electronic components and military products. He is expert in business and marketing plan development, analysis and decision-making, strategic alliances and organization alignment. He is one of fewer than 300 people in this country who has achieved “Professional Certified Marketer” certification by the American Marketing Association, an association of marketing professionals with over 38,000 members worldwide. He is the only PCM who has also been credentialed as an SCA Certified Practitioner by NetForm™ Resources.
Prior to founding KemperStrategy in 2002, David had 15 years’ management experience in engineering, program management, strategic planning, sales and marketing in both international and domestic markets, and in organizations ranging from $13 million to $200 million in revenue.
David was a member of the second graduating class of the NC School of Science and Math and, as a full (Caldwell) scholarship winner, earned his BS in Industrial Engineering from NC State University. He has an MBA from Western Carolina University, graduating Beta Gamma Sigma. He has been active in entrepreneurship and angel investor communities. He served as a board director of Wellco Enterprises (AMEX:WLC) and served on a special committee negotiating the sale of the company. He is a board director for Stone Medical Technologies, an early-stage medical device company based in the Chicago area. He serves on the board of advisors for the Jesse H. Jones School of Business at Texas Southern University and for the Western Carolina University College of Business. Since 2009, he has been a judge for the Edison Awards, a national program recognizing the highest levels of innovation in products and services.
David lives in Asheville with his wife and two wonderful children. In addition to other volunteer interests, he has a strong commitment to his church and scouting.
